Capital Club East Africa and Decla Capital Advisors Formalise Capital Nexus Partnership to Mobilise Local Private Capital in Kenya

14 April 2026, Nairobi, Kenya — Capital Club East Africa and Decla Capital Advisors have formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to scale Capital Nexus, a platform designed to mobilize local private capital into structured investment opportunities across Kenya’s high-growth sectors.

Launched in October 2025, Capital Nexus was created to address a central question: What role can local capital play in shaping the future of Kenya’s economy? Since inception, the platform has convened investors, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem leaders through curated dialogues exploring capital allocation across sectors such as the creative economy and gender-lens investing.

The MOU establishes a long-term framework for the continued development of Capital Nexus and its next phase, Capital Nexus Labs, a structured extension designed to translate dialogue into actionable investment opportunities, partnerships, and capital deployment. These smaller, curated sessions focus on developing tangible opportunities emerging from Nexus discussions, including investment structures and sector-specific initiatives.

Capital Nexus sits at the intersection of convening and execution. While hosted within Capital Club’s ecosystem, the platform is curated and led by Decla Capital Advisors, bringing together institutional insight, transaction experience, and a growing network of capital providers.

Local capital, defined as the savings, wealth, and investments held by Kenyan pension funds, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and angel networks, remains a largely underutilized force in shaping the country’s investment landscape. Through Capital Nexus, Decla and Capital Club aim to demystify investment opportunities, deepen local investor engagement, and create pathways for direct participation in structured transactions.

“At Capital Club, we believe meaningful conversations shape markets and drive progress. Capital Nexus has evolved into a platform where ideas do not just stay in the room, they begin to take shape as real opportunities. This partnership reflects our commitment to creating an environment where private capital can be more intentionally mobilized to support Kenya’s growth.” says Mebs Tejpar, Managing Director of Capital Club East Africa.

“Capital Nexus is not about replacing foreign capital. Kenya and the region will continue to benefit from global capital flows. What we are asking is how local capital can complement that, ensuring that the priorities of Kenyan businesses are reflected in where and how capital is deployed,” says Lynne Wesonga, Founder and Managing Partner of Decla Capital Advisors.
